World Cup Finished
World cup is finished, and despite of Samedi's hard work on organizing this, things didn't go as well as planned. Anyway, much better than last world cup attemps, which did fail after first round, or didn't even start.
I admit that player base of gloom is quite small to arrange cups like this, but still I'm little disappointed. For example, Team USA had eleven registered players, still only one showed up in last matches. I know that people have other things to do aswell, but is it really too much asked to even inform other team, that players don't show up. That way opponent don't need to wait an hour for nothing. I assumed that people who registered to cup, had even little bit of commitment.
Personally, I'm feeling little sad for Samedi, since he used a lot of spare time to organize cup. Players first informs that they can participate, and then just disappear without any note.
Despite of all this, I still don't consider this cup as a failure. There were many good matches, and teams who played, did have fun.
I want to thank everyone who took part in this event and trying to keep this great mod alive! Special thanks to Samedi for organizing the cup.

I agree with everything Virgo said. Good job Samedi and Virgo too for setting up this thing.
Finland also had 13 members and at the beginning and we even considered putting two Fin teams together. Luckily that decision wasn't made, since typically we would have about 5-8 players out of 13 appear during matches. About 4 registered Fin members didn't make any kind of contact with me or anyone else during the cup, which is quite sad. Therefore I can imagine teams with like 7 guys having serious problems getting enough players for a match.
However, I think that it's f**king pitiful to join a team and then never show up. If you are not going to play, then don't register. No-show teams earn my disrespect and the members of those teams should get their captain's disrespect.
After all this ranting, I'd like to say that the cup was in no means a total failure. A fair amount of matches were played, and a clear winner was found ;) Thanks to all who took the time to show up during matches.
All those guys who registered and made no effort to play or inform about their participation or lack of it can disappear altogether for all I care.
Thanks for all the good games, was fun.
Oh, and thanks to all Fin players who played in our team.
Yeah I enjoyed the games that were played and tbh some teams were outstanding in their efforts (a special mention to Poland who i was sure would struggle with their small squad but never missed a match)
Thanks those of you who came to the games. Thanks alot to Virgo for all the work on this site also, awesome job m8 :)
Wp peeps.
It was really exciting at first, but when more teams went Missing In Action, it started to lower people's interest in the cup. Personally, I didn't even care about the last two matches and I played terribly without my usual warmups and preparations.
I think that only Finland and Poland took the cup seriously. We had short discussions before the games to get some teamplay going on and pol even practiced together few times. Would've liked to see more of this on the other teams.
Despite all the difficulties, I had great times with my team. It's always pleasant to play with the guys I have known for a long time. We all wanted to kick ass a lot and it showed.
Now that I think about it - we never even lost a spawn :E.
